TANZANIA VISIT INFO
Tanzania has more National Parks than any other African country. These National Parks include Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area which are the most known.Is the home to the Great Migration of over 2 million Wildebeests and thousands of Zebras migrating every year searching for green pasture and water in an endless circle.
Tanzanian People are known to be warm and friendly, amongst themselves as well as to foreigners. Politeness, respect and modesty are highly valued in the country. Tanzania has Mount Kilimanjaro which is African’s highest peak.
Depends on your preference;
June to October: is when the country is at its driest. During this season the migration river crossing happens however, all the parks offer amazing wildlife sightings at this time as the grasses and bush are at their least dense.
November to May: is a wet season/rainy season, Calves are born from January to March, and the predators are notably active during this time. The migration of birds is also at its peak at this time of the year, turning the National Parks into a paradise.
Best time to climb Kilimanjaro
June – October : The weather on Kilimanjaro is fairly dry and clear, but mornings and nights are still cold. This time is usually quiet and sunny. It is an excellent idea to choose this time for your adventure because of the great weather.
A remarkable feature of the wet season is that the number of visitors to the Parks/ Kilimanjaro is notably lower than during the dry one.
A visa is required when travelling to Tanzania. Ensure your passport be valid at least for six months past your arrival date and make sure you have at least 2blank pages in your passport
- a) Apply through the nearest Tanzanian embassy to you,
- b) Apply for a landing visa when you enter Tanzania.
U.S. citizen is 100 USD, Canadian and other countries are 50 USD.
Check your medical history to see if you have already received some of the recommended or required vaccines. It is advised that you see a doctor or travel clinic that has a special focus on tropical disease wishes ask them if there are any additional suggestions based on your age or medical history. It can take a bit of time to get all the recommended vaccinations; it is advisable to begin as soon as you confirm your travel dates.
Yellow Fever
A certificate of vaccination for Yellow Fever will be necessary for arrival from Kenya or other neighboring East African Countries. Tanzania has no recorded case of Yellow fever.
Malaria
The risk of contracting Malaria in Tanzania is decreasing. Using repellants and sleeping under a mosquito net is advised. Malaria has no vaccine there are special medicines to prevent Malaria. Consult with your doctor before taking any medication.
